INSPIRATION FROM ANOTHER ST. JUDE BRAIN CANCER SURVIVOR!

Over the weekend, I was lucky enough to attend an incredible fundraising event for St. Jude celebrating the recent Inspiration4 mission to space, in which four non-astronauts, including a former St. Jude patient who now works as a PA at the hospital, went to space and raised $235 MILLION for kids with cancer! The “astronauts” were all there, and I’ll be writing another blog about the event after this one. But, for now, I want to share the story of Ben. He and I sat next to each other at dinner. I’d heard Ben speak a couple of years ago at another St. Jude event, but this time I got to know more about him.

Ben was treated for medulloblastoma, a form of brain cancer, when he was just eight years old and in third grade. Fast forward to 2018, and he graduated from Stanford University, where he studied mechanical engineering. He now works as a process engineer in San Francisco and is a photographer for fun. Ben is amazing. Not only does he speak at St. Jude events, but he has also run multiple half marathons as a St. Jude Hero, raising funds for the hospital that saved his life. Ben is still in touch with his doctor from St. Jude all of these years later!

I’m so glad I got to connect with Ben, and he’s yet another example of how important the work at St. Jude is. If you’d like to DONATE to help St. Jude in the global fight against childhood cancer, saving patients like Ben, you can do so on my website.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT!
